Downtown Shul
Holds Estate Sale

The Isaac Agree Downtown
Synagogue will have an estate sale 10
a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday and Monday,
Sept. 9 and 10, at the Southfield
Center for the Arts on Southfield
Road, south of 10 Mile.
Community members may call
with fair-value tax deductible dona-
tions of antique and vintage items.
Items will be appraised for a small fee.
Donations should be delivered to the
Center for the Arts on Friday, Sept. 7,
from noon-4 p.m. All items must be
identified to receive a fair value tax
letter from the synagogue.
There is a $5 admission to the
event.
All proceeds will go to the Isaac
Agree Downtown Synagogue, reports
Jack Felsot, president.

Preschool 'Club'
Seeks Members

Applications are being accepted for
the Explorers' Club, a program for
preschoolers are parents or grandpar-
ents, sponsored by the Birmingham
Temple.
The Club meets once a month or
more, generally on Thursday after-
noons, for trips to places o interest in
metro Detroit. The fee for the pro-
gram is $25 per family for temple
members and $35 for non-members.

Video Chronicles
European Town

Congregation Shaarey Zedek Wani
Israel, Temple Beth El and the Jewish
Genealogical Society will present a
video chronicle of Eishyshok, "the
town that time forgot," 7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 6, at Beth El.
The video is a travelogue made by
a tiny group of survivors and their
families who were guided by Yaffa
Eliach, the creator of Tower of Life in
Washington, D.C.'s Holocaust
Memorial.
Barbara Weiner, a member of the
Detroit community, along with her

father and sister, residents of Windsor,
will speak about their mission of
remembrance and discovery in this
town.
In addition, Harold Goodman will
cite local and nationally known per-
sons whose families were part of the
town.
