Selected Detroit Jewish News
July Employee of the Month

T

he summer has been a juggling act for Story Development Editor Keri
Guten Cohen. But she has proven to be adept at keeping all the balls well
balanced in the air.

While handling-her normal responsibilities as story development editor, Keri also
coordinated our two-part series of stories on Detroit's 300th birthday. The series
was prepared over several weeks and involved
working with local historians as well as local
archives. Notably, the series framed the
city's actual celebration activities, but did
not duplicate any of the intensive cover-
age by other news media.

At the same time this series was coming
together, Keri was busy overseeing the
2001 JN Sourcebook, which was steaming
toward an August deadline.

Without complaint, with great skill and
very collected despite her multiple
responsibilities, Keri did the Jewish
News proud in earning Staffer of
the Month recognition for a sec-
ond time.
