mitzvah Saturday, Aug. 4, at the
Butzel Conference Center in
Ortonville, Mich. Ben is the brother
of Rachel Kaplan. Proud grandpar-
ents are Dr. Aaron
and Shirley Kaplan

N.J., Dr. Jerome
and Mindy

Gene and Suzanne
Curtis of West
Bloomfield. He is
also the grandson of the late
Marilyn Simandl Kaplan. Thrilled
great-grandparents are Milton and
Frances Heller of Lauderhill, Fla.
Benjamin is an honor student at
Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills and Beth Achim
Religious School. He is a member of
Adat Shalom Synagogue. Ben plays
on the Maccabi soccer team and will
represent Detroit at the internation-
al games this summer. He also
enjoys basketball, hockey and the
clarinet. Benjamin volunteers for
the South Oakland Homeless
Shelter.
