Tribute Committee
Co-Chairs Named

Irving Laker, Bruce H. Rosen and
Merton J. Segal will serve as co-chairs of
the Harry and Sally Nosanchuk Tribute
Committee.
The Nosanchuks will be the recipi-
ents of the Justice Louis D. Brandeis
Award at the 68th annual Balfour con-
cert of the Metropolitan Detroit Region
of ZOA, to be held on
Sunday evening, Oct.
21, at the Millennium
Theater Center in
Southfield.
Laker, himself a
Brandeis Award recipi-
ent, is a former presi-
dent of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek and
Irving Laker
Metro Detroit ZOA,
and a member of the
ZOA National Board.
He received awards for
distinguished service
from Israel Bonds, the
Jewish Theological
Seminary of America,
Hillel Day School of
Bruce Rosen
Metropolitan Detroit,
the Jewish National
Fund and the Pinkser
Progressive Aid
Society. Irving and
Beverly Laker have
established the Beverly
and Irving Laker
Educational and Youth
Merton Segal
Center in West
Bloomfield and have
opened a home for Jewish Association
for Residential Care in honor of Harry
and Sarah Laker.
Rosen is a chairman of Sovereign
Sales LLC, vice president of Variety
Clubs International, trustee of Variety,
Children's Charity, and board member
of Children's Hospital of Michigan. He
has received the Spirit of Detroit Award
and both the Variety Club Gold Barker
Award and Presidential Citation.
Segal is a chartered property and
casualty underwriter and has been
prominently involved in Jewish, civic
and philanthropic causes and organiza-
tions. He is a director of the Ecumenical
Institute of Jewish/Christian Studies and
has served as a director of the Children's
Center of Detroit, the board of the
University of Michigan insurance chair
committee, as well as serving on other
local boards. Segal is a member of Team
Michigan, the President's Club of the
University of Michigan and is a past
president of Temple Beth El.
