ose Lieberman of Southfield is
a familiar sight in the male-
dominated world of insurance
executives and automobiles.
She is president of Rose Lieberman
Enterprises, a Southfield-based insurance
agency specializing in people with medical
problems, and 110W the first woman to
chair the 23rd annual Meadow Brook Hall
Concours d' Elegance.
"It's really a wonderful challenge," says
Lieberman, explaining that the Concours is
a top-notch world event. This stellar display
of vintage automobiles from around the
world includes a week of festivities begin-
ning with a fashion show, art auction and
gala benefit and culminating in the annual
exhibit Sunday, Aug. 5, on the spectacular
grounds of the great auto baron mansion at
Oakland University in Rochester.
"Each car represents a unique experi-
ence," says Lieberman, who fondly
remembers her first car for $50 — a 1948
Willy's Jeep Wagoneer. She learned how to
service it herself with the help of her dad,
Abe Brodsky

"You can start collecting on any level,"
she adds. Today she owns a 1952 red MG-
TD and her next purchase will probably
be the new BMW Mini Cooper due out in
spring 2002.
This car enthusiast served on a host of
committees and was a vice president for
two years before being approved to the top
position at Concours.
Lieberman is as versatile as the hun-
dreds of cars at the upcoming Concours.
Before entering the corporate world, she
was a teacher and dental hygienist. She is
the mother of Dayna Pink, a Los Angeles
stylist and Mark, a local businessman.

Her philosophy on life works well in the
corporate and volunteer worlds, because
failure is not part of her vocabulary. "Don't
let no be an option. Don't be discouraged.
Just persevere."
