More than 70 guests boarded a bus from the Max M. Fisher Building in Bloomfield Township to the MOT on Madison Ave. in Detroit. Act II: Michael Hauser, MOT project manager, discussed the history of the Opera House. The theatre, built in 1922, showed many Hollywood movies. The stage is 65 ft deep and 110 ft. wide. This non-profit Opera House received many generous funds from private contributions and national corporations enabling a $40 million to $45 million restoration. "Ford is incredibly corn- mitted to the arts," said Hauser. Stage left: The wig room is filled with blond and brunette headpieces coifed and ready to be worn. Stage right: The costume room houses all the changes from the villains to the heroes. Stage center: The makeup room with lighted mirrors contains all the tools of the trade. Act Ill: Lunch is served, while the patrons listen to arias from The Tales of Hoffmann and news about Federation. Finale: The overall consensus was favorable. The event was meaningful and included a glimpse of Detroit. According to Co-chair Annie Cohen, "The day was an overwhelming success." Stage notes: Rave reviews. — Carla Schwartz 1.
