hey weren't all singing
"Gotta Dance!" but
there was a touch of
Fred Astaire in every
dad who participated in the third
annual Daddy-Daughter Dance
during Miss Barbara's Dance
Studio's recitals, June 6-13.
It all began simply. Barbara Fink,
owner of Miss Barbara's, often held
mom and daughter dances, sister
dances, and other novelty routines,
but she thought, "What's cuter than
dads and daughters?" So she put a
sign-up sheet out at the front desk
of her West Bloomfield studio.
"The first lesson, all of the dads
did not show, and the ones who
did were in the waiting room, and
didn't want to come in," recounts
Barbara. "The girls pushed and
prodded them into the dance
