To Nosanchuks
Harry and Sally Nosanchuk, communi-
ty leaders and philanthropists, will be
recipients of the Justice Louis D.
Brandeis Award from the Zionist
Organization of America at the Balfour
Celebration Concert, Sunday, Oct, 21,
at the Millennium Theater Center in
Southfield.
Harry and Sally Nosanchuk are mem-
bers of Israel's Bonds Prime Minister's
Club and the Detroit Jewish Federation's
Quarter Century Club. They are on the
board of trustees of the Michigan Opera.
Theatre. Their Family Community
Caring Fund sponsors programs on
behalf of senior citizens; the fund under-
writes the cost of videotaping religious
services for distribution to senior facili-
ties, hospitals and shut-ins and provides
annual concerts that entertain seniors.
Harry Nosanchuk is a former chair of
both the Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit's Church-State
and Education committees. As a dele-
gate to the Jewish Council for Public
Affairs, he helped formulate national
policy on church-state relations. He is a
former representative to the
Southeastern Michigan Council of
Governments, a founder of Citizens to
Advance Public Education and a past
president of Knollwood Country Club
in West Bloomfield.
Sally Nosanchuk received a degree in
home economics education from Wayne
State University. She has been a construc-
don company executive for 27 years. She
is a member of the Lion of Judah, a for-
mer treasurer of the Jewish Home for
ed Auxiliary-and a volunteer for the
Federation's Annual Campaign and Oak
Park-based Yad Ezra.

The Edith and Larry Kowalsky Morning
Minyan Fund was created by Dr. Steven
Kowalsky, Howard Kowalsky, Mark
Kowalsky and Jeffrey Kowalsky, children
of the late Edith and Larry Kowalsky, to
provide for the morning minyan at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills.
The fund includes the purchase and
or repair of materials, programming
enhancements and a breakfast marking
the yahrtzeit of Edith and Larry
Kowalsky, who were killed on an Egypt
Air plane crash on October 31, 1999.
