Opperer of Huntington Woods is the new president of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit Young Adult Division. His election took place June 14 at YAD's "Signature Event" and 63rd annual meeting at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Young Adult Division is a volunteer, charitable and educational organiza- tion open to single or married Jewish young adults, ages 21-36, in the tri- county area. YAD is dedicated to the Federation mission of fostering and strengthening the Jewish community and its ties to the Jewish people in Israel and throughout the world. Elected and installed with Opperer was Scott Kaufman, president-elect, who also received this year's Mark Family Young Leadership Award. Other YAD leaders for the 2001- 2002 program year are: Michele E. Goldstein, Joshua A. Lerner, Amy Carson Schlussel, Lee P. Trepeck and Barbra Tunick, officers; Dawn M. Faxon, Lorne B. Gold, James D.
