Production Director

The Detroit Jewish News is seeking a Print
Production Director. This member of the com-
pany leadership team will be responsible for a
creative and production staff of 12.
Departmental duties include design, layout and
pre-press functions for all weekly, monthly and
supplementary publications, marketing materi-
als, etc. As direct communicator to our contract-
ed commercial printers, the Production Director
will coordinate print scheduling and establish all
related deadlines. Corporate responsibilities
include the coordination and implementation of
efficient workflow strategy among multiple
locations. Applicants should have at least 5 years
publication production management experience
including staff career development, implementa-
tion of incentive plans, budget accountability
and a thorough understanding of conventional
and digital workflows. The ability to effectively
manage multiple projects simultaneously with
attention to quality and detail, as well as excel-
lent written and verbal communication skills, is

DRACHLER PROGRAM

The School of Social Work invites applications for a
Clinical Assistant Professorship to serve as the Director of
the Sol Drachler program. An MSW degree is required and
a Ph.D. or equivalent in Social Work or a related field is
preferred. Applicants with knowledge in Jewish communal
service who have a growing state, national and interna-
tional presence and who would be able to provide expert-
ise to the school beyond Jewish communal service are pre-
ferred. Applicants should have a strong commitment to the
teaching mission of the school; experience in teaching at
the graduate level and evidence of innovation and creativ-
ity in the classroom; familiarity with technology to
enhance the classroom experience; and a willingness to
make a long-term commitment to teaching. This position is
a full-time non-tenure-track position providing full
University of Michigan fringe benefits. Instructional assign-
ments may be made throughout the calendar year, includ-
ing Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer terms. A contract will
be awarded on a competitive basis for up to three years
with possibility for renewal.

The successful candidate will serve as the Director of the
Sol Drachler Program in Jewish Communal Services, and
will teach Master's level courses in Social Work, Jewish
Communal Services and other areas; will advise students,
and may also serve as a liaison for students in field place-
ments. The Director of the Sol Drachler Program is respon-
sible for the day-to-day management of the Sol Drachler
Program; this includes fundraising, community outreach,
and curriculum development, maintaining international
relations and student recruitment.
