Video Collection
Given To JCC

The Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit has
received a gift of a major
national collection of Jewish
films and TV shows on video,
available for rental to members
and to the community.
The Jewish Heritage Video
Collection includes videos in
the following categories: anima-
tion/children's, comedy, -
Holocaust, international Jewry,
Israel, Jewish experience in
America, religion and identity.
The 200 videos in the collec-
tion, all in VHS format, are
temporarily housed in the JCC
in Oak Park. The collection will
be moved to a permanent home
in the West Bloomfield JCC _
when the Kahn Building's new
library is constructed.
The video collection is a gift
to the JCC from Evelyn and
Harvey Goldsmith to honor
both their 50th wedding
anniversary and their children
and grandchildren: Carole,
Howard, Philip, Andree and
Michael Goldsmith; Susan, Roy,
Laura and Daniel Kulick; Elise,
David, Jacob, Dana and the late
Jane Schostak.
The collection will be dedicat-
ed in ceremonies at 2 p.m.
Sunday, June 24, at the JCC in
Oak Park. Rabbi Hal
Greenwald, JCC director of
Jewish education, will partici-
pate in the ceremonies.
The. Jewish Heritage Video
Collection is a project of the
Jewish Media Fund, supported
by the Charles H. Revson
Foundation. Duplicates of the
collection are owned by Jewish
community centers and Jewish
libraries throughout the United
States. The Jewish Community
Center of Washtenaw County
also owns a collection.
Cost of a video rental is $2
for JCC members and $4 for
non-members. The public is
invited to take out videos and to
attend the June 24 dedication
ceremonies. ❑
