canceled their arrival, Dr. Millstone
has insisted on coming to treat our
underprivileged," she said. "As he
says, no child should suffer from
political problems."
The clinic, open four mornings a
week, treats about 200 children a
day, with a staff that includes six
dental volunteers.
There are problems, and the lack
of volunteers due to Arab violence is
just one of them.
"If they don't get silver and the
simple things, their doors are going
to have to close," he said. "They're
working on a shoestring budget.
That's the heart of the problem.
"My goal is to just keep going
there every year.and continue to give,
because it makes me feel so wonder-
ful. The feeling I get from doing this,
defies the English language. It's so
heartwarming," he said. "The chil-
dren are beautiful — everything
from jet black, to blond-haired, blue-
eyed, and everything in between. It's
the face of Israel. When they say
todah (thank you) to you, it's just
very gratifying." 117
