at Gleaners Food Bank, the Temple

ety of other mitzvah projects for the
temple.

Stephanie Rose Goldberg will cele-
brate her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel
on Saturday, June 9. She is the daugh-
ter of Donna and
Howard Goldberg
and sister of
Samantha. Excited
grandparents are
Nancy and Robert
Tuttleman and Ida
and Aaron
Goldberg.
Stephanie
attends Orchard Lake Middle School
in West Bloomfield, where she is an
honor student; she enjoys dance,
photography, tennis and travel. She
raised funds to donate to the
National Council of Jewish Women's
shelter program for abused women
and children and assisted at Temple
Israel's Labor Day picnic as part of
her mitzvah projects.

Samantha Haley Kirschner will
become a bat mitzvah on Friday, June
8, at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter
of Beth and Dr.
David Kirschner and
sister of Scott.
Sharing in the sim-
cha are grandparents
Emily and Daniel
Arnold and Helen
Kirschner. She is also
the grandchild of the late Harold
Kirschner.
An honor student at Abbott
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Samantha likes dancing, swimming,
skiing, art, music and computers.
Among her mitzvah projects, she vol-
unteered at the Denby Center in
Birmingham and Menorah House in
Southfield, and helped prepare food
when Temple Israel housed the home-
less.

Abraham Levine will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
June 9, at
Congregation Beth
Ahm. He is the son
of Francine and
Robert Levine and
brother of Aaron.
His grandparents are
Rose and Louis
Adler, Dr. and Mrs.
Jack Litwin and the
late Harold Levine.
Avi is a seventh-grade student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills, where he
is on the soccer team. He is also a
member of the United Synagogue
Youth Kadima chapter at Beth Ahm
and patrol leader of Boy Scout Troop
1579, chartered to Beth Ahm. Avi
enjoys soccer, kayaking, bicycling and
pet sitting. Over the years, he has vol-
unteered at Yad Ezra, with the
Friendship Circle and at the Early
Head Start program in Detroit.

Sarah Louise Nirenberg will become a
bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, June 8. She is the daughter of
Pauline and Henry
Nirenberg and sister
of Paul. Joining in
the celebration are
grandmothers
Berneice Daleo and
Gittel Nirenberg.
She is also the
grandchild of the
late Paul Daleo and
the late Chaskiel
Nirenberg.
A student at West Bloomfield's
Abbott Middle School, Sarah likes
soccer, volleyball and golf. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was vol-
unteering at the Holocaust Memorial
Center in West Bloomfield.

Michael Kornbluh Novinson will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, June 9, at
Temple Israel. He is
the son of Joyce
Kornbluh and
Steven Novinson
and brother of
Daniel. Proud
grandparents are Lily
