P

erhaps there is no greater symbol of Kavod Ha-Met (honoring the dead) than

the Shomer, the religious watchman who prays for the soul of the &teased. From

the first family we served 60 years ago, to the present, our chapel is staffed with a

Shomer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our legacy is serving Detroit's Jewish

community with dignity and

Today we celebrate the life of a remarkable young man. Beloved husband and friend
to Liz, father to Ruby and Lacey, brother to Megan, uncle to Chase and Levi, son to
Larry and Betty and Carol and Mike.
He cherished his family and friends and the time he spent with them; he will be
remembered as always ready to listen and help others.
A young man with a great love of life, he loved to travel and try everything and
savored it all. He could cry unashamedly when his soul was touched and expose him-
self to others through his compassion. His presence filled the room. He embraced his
life with courage , dignity and humor.
Two years ago he left us suddenly while playing hockey, a game he truly loved.

He is so very missed, he is so very loved. (Song of Solomon 2:16)
