Baltimore Rabbi Featured
At JCC Annual Meeting

Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin, director of
Jewish life at the Jewish Community
Center of Greater Baltimore, will be
guest speaker at the Jewish
Community Center of Metropoiitan
Detroit's annual m:.'eting 7
p.m. Thursday, June 21, at
the JCC in West
Bloomfield.
The evening begins with a
dessert reception with the
meeting following at 7:30
p.m. The meeting kicks off
the agency's 75th anniver-
sary celebration. Officers
and board members will be
installed and leadership
awards presented.
Rabbi Cardin was ordained in 1988
by the Jewish Theological Seminary
of America, where she served as spe-
cial assistant to the chancellor, assis-
tant to the vice chancellor, director of

research grants and assistant dean of
the rabbinical school.
She also served for two years on
the New York City faculty as visiting
lecturer in theology. Rabbi Cardin
also was a visiting faculty
member at Baltimore Hebrew
University.
She is the founder of the
Jewish Women's Resource
Center in New York City and
a co-founder of the National
Center for Jewish Healing.
Editor of ShMa: A Journal
of Jewish Responsibility,
Rabbi Cardin is the author
of Tears of Sorrow, Seeds of
Hope: A Spiritual Companion
