IDA COUSENS, 82, of Southfield,
died May 23. She was an insurance
secretary and member of Workmen's
Circle Association.
She is survived by her son, Marshall
Cousens of Southfield; daughter,
Eileen Herbach of Commerce; grand-
children, Kelli and Eric Weiss, Elissa
Chudler; great-grandchildren,
Alexander and Chelsey Weiss; sister
and brother-in-law, Janey and Louis
Remer of Florida. She was the beloved
wife of the late Milton Cousens.

DR. RICHARD S. KAMIL, 79, of
Bloomfield Hills, died May 23. He
graduated from the University of
Michigan with a bachelor of science
degree in 1943 and the Chicago
Medical School in 1946. He did his
residency in Orthopedics Hospital for
Joint Disorders in New York.
Dr. Kamil was an orthopedic surgeo
in Mash Unit 8055 in Korea. He was a
past chief of orthopedics at Sinai
Hospital and helped to establish the
orthopedic residency program at Sinai,
Grace, Providence and Mt. Carmel
hospitals. He frequently served as a
professor of anatomy at Wayne State
University Medical School. His affilia-
tions include being a diplomat of the
American College of Orthopedics, past
president of the Maimonides Medical
Society and a member of Temple Israel
He was a member of and active in
the Detroit Institute of Arts and the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the
Detroit Zoo, the West Bloomfield
Holocaust Museum, the Jewish
Community Center, the Anti-
Defamation League and Knollwood
Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, June
Kamil; son, Dr. Mark Kamil of
Commerce Township; daughters and
son-in-law, Leslie Kamil of Ann Arbo
Lisa. Kamil of Bloomfield Hills,
Florence and Eric Dessen of New-
York; grandchildren, Joseph, Rita,
Frederick, Rebecca, Hannah and
Miriam Kamil, Jason and Jamie
Dessen; sister, Adele Sternberg of
California; brother-in-law and sister-
in-law, Florence and Jack Levine.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Par
Contributions may be made to Dr.
Richard S. Kamil Fund to be estab-
