The growth of the Solomon
Schechter Day School movement, seen
locally at Hillel Day School, and the
creation of new high schools, such as
the Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit, is being led by graduates of
JTS.
JTS has entered into community life
through programs such as Detroit's
JEEEP (Jewish Early Education
Enhancement Project), focused on nurs-
ery school educators, in co-sponsorship
with the Detroit Jewish Federation's
Hermelin-Davidson Center for
Congregation Excellence.
Funds raised at the dinner provide
assistance for student scholarships.
The Detroit JTS executive commit-
tee, chaired by Marty Gene, includes
Jenny Dorfman, Ken Goss, Alan
Kaufman, Bobbie-Miller, Allen ()lender

Shir Shalom Youth
Hold Installation

The Temple Shir Shalom youth board
members for 2001-2002 will be installed
at Shabbat services Friday, June 2, follow-
ing the high school graduation service.
Officers to be installed are Rebecca

Rachel Kahan, Emily Canosa, Joe
Edelman, vice presidents; Traci Ross,
