Feldman and sophomore Brian Brodsky, who's also played some matches at No. 4 singles. "I'm very pleased with both of them," Kopec says. "Dan probably has the harder serve, and Brian probably has more control in his volleys and ball placement." Jeff Zeman and Dan I. Feldman, both sophomores, play No. 3 doubles. The two Feldmans are unrelated, but could have helped West Bloomfield become the "almost-all-Feldman" team — five Feldmans tried out for the squad. Two were cut and a third, Dan A.'s younger brother-Michael, m , ,le the JV squad. The Zeman-Feldman duo is "defi- nitely improving as a doubles team," Kopec says. "They're learning to place the ball and not rely strictly on power. They're also starting to become a little more offensive. Rather than laying back and waiting to get to the net, they're trying to press the points a lit- tle bit more. ,: Several players have rotated at No. 4 doubles, including Dan Seidman, Adam Borson, Lee Bushman and Brad Zicherman. In the key dual meet match with Bloomfield Hills Andover, which secured the Lakers' OAA title, Murav, Lefkowitz and Bertha won singles matches, while Maxon- Maiseloff and Zeman-Feldman won in doubles. In the OAA tournament, Abramson, Lefkowitz and Bertha took singles championships. The Lakers' doubles titleists included Maxon-Maiseloff, Feldman-Zeman and Borson-Seidman. Murav believes the Lakers can be "a top-five team" in the state tourna- ment. Individually, his goal is to reach the semifinals, even though he figures he won't be seeded. Maxon-Maiseloff will get a high seed at the state tournament, probably second or third. "Steve and I want to win it," Maxon says. "We think we have a pretty good shot." Maxon, who'll attend New York University next fall, is the Laker most likely to play college tennis. Murav will attend Michigan while Maiseloff is considering U-M, Michigan State and Brandeis. But for now, they're focusing on the state tournament. 788-9073 682-9090 Who Will Help Mom and Dad When They Can No Longer Help Themselves?
