Gilda's Club Metro Detroit held a
fundraiser May 3, at the Andiamo
Banquet Center in Warren with more
than 400 patrons. Co-Chairs Karen
Gunsberg and Andi Sklar were
delighted with the successful event,
which raised more than $150,000.
"There was a real sense of community
and energy in the room," noted
Gunsberg. Gildds Club Board President
Randy Book received the "It's Alw2ys
Someone Special Award." Member
Robin Stone, an ovarian cancer survivor,
made a poignant presentation.

Taste Of The Nation
More than 1,500 metro Detroiters
attended the Share our Strength's Taste
of Nation dinner, held April 29 at the
Somerset Collection in Troy. This
event is part of the nationwide anti-
hunger benefit. Four local charities —
Food Bank of Oakland County,
Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners and
Community Food Bank — were recip-
ients of the proceeds.

The Somerset Collection's North Crand
Court will be filled with a two-story
home facade and a dramatic display of
gardens from May 20 to June 24.
The model homes will debut with a
gala charity Garden Party on May 19,
hosted by Moceri, Tringali and
Somerset. Proceeds benefit. the
Michigan Chapter of National
Multiple Sclerosis Society,
Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center
and Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit.
