Playing Games

JARC SpringElation fundraiser
successful on all counts.

BE

ore than 900 people, clearly one-half children, enjoyed
an afternoon of non-stop game playing during JARC's
third annual SpringElation fundraiser. The action from
more than 200 games operating free from noon to 4 p.m.
filled Gameworks at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills May 6.
The event benefits the Shirley and Merle Harris Children and Family
Division of JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care), which
includes respite care, a day school inclusion program and advocacy.
"We raised more than $250,000, well over last year's $150,000,"
says Rena Friedberg, JARC director of development.
She credits the hard work of chairmen Dan Gilbert and Rob
Nusbaum, both of Franklin, and the 40 volunteers who secured more
than 200 sponsorships.
The event also included a silent auction, raffle, dancing with Star
Traxx, face painting and food by Matt Prentice's Milk and Honey.
