Dressed in blue-and-white garb, families participated in a Mideastern shuk (marker) complete with falafel, an archaeological dig and a Jewish court of justice. Before meals, they shared family artifacts that reminded them of Israel. During arts and crafts, children made edible maps of Israel from matzah boards, frosting and candy. Families sang "Happy Birthday" to Israel in Hebrew and enjoyed a large blue-and-white cake for dessert. The themed weekend was coordinated by B'nai Moshe Family Educator Susan Sinai, Beth Sonne of the Fresh Air Society and Lisa Soble Siegmann of Jewish Experiences For Families (JEFF), part of the Agency for Jewish Education of Metropolitan Detroit. Over 400 headpieces/tiaras, jewelry, purses, shoes, gloves, slips, lingerie, guest books, garters, flowergirl baskets, pillows, toasting flutes, - invitations... everything but the dress! theweddingshoppe.net Open Tuesday - Sunday 734 S.
