To the 150 attendees at a Yom
HaZikaron/Yom HaAtzmaut celebra-
tion, the Wall of Remembrance was a
poignant reminder of the tragedy of
every Israeli soldier's death.
Participants in the program, spon-
sored by Metropolitan Council of
Young Israel and held at the
Young Israel of Southfield, inscribed
names of many of the men and women
who were killed since 1948 to ensure
the survival of the State of Israel.
Says Esther Posner, who chaired the
event, "The wall was truly special. Many
people, from the very young to the very
old, took turns adding names to the list.
Some came up again and again, solemn-
ly reading the list and feeling its
impact."
The wall was one part of the pro-
gram, planned by Kollel Torah MiTzion.
Rabbi Shay Rinsky said, "We hoped
that the wall would make people feel

way. We wanted people to know that
