rom time marks a special milestone for
high school seniors and also for us at Style
magazine at the Jewish News. Our first issue
was in .May 2000, and the main feature
was a prom fashion spread. This year we returned
to the prom theme with the help of Jacobson's in
Birmingham, who held a fashion show exclusively
with prom dresses and local high school students.
Look for more fashion news in the exciting
men's photo spread featuring the new stretch fab-
rics. Stylist Suzin Boddiford chose some gymnasts
to model these innovative fabrics.
May is also the month to start thinking about
home renovations. We have two stories to get you
in the mood. Check out the Rubins' new bath-
room. What a tranquil and beautiful space! Talk
about beautiful spaces, we whet your appetite with
Beth Singer's photography of the Detroit
Historical Society's Showhouse, where
30 local interior designers transformed
the rooms. The Showhouse, once part of
the Vernor estate, is located on four lush
acres in Bloomfield Hills.
As we celebrate our first anniversary, I
want to thank and commend our staff for
creating a stellar product.
I am proud to report that our glossy
monthly magazine, Style at the Jewish News, is a suc-
cess. The reason for our success is you — our
readers and members of the Jewish community
who are interesting, dynamic and compelling.
Sincerely,
(248) 356-7007
