August will celebrate his bar mitzvah on Saturday, May 5, at Temple Beth El. He is the son of Kathie and Irving August, the brother of David, Gary and Diana and the grandson of Shirley Bogoff, the late Chris Bogoff and the late Birdie and Harold August. Brian is on the dean's list at Cranbrook Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, where he plays oboe in the advanced band and par- ticipates in the ski club. He enjoys tennis, skiing, golf and computers. For his mitzvah project, he volun- teered with Jewish Experiences for Families, packaging food for the Great Purim Parcel Project. Evan Bushman will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, May 5, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. He is the son of Ellen and David Bushman and brother of Jordan. Sharing in the joy are grandparents Clare and Meyer Kin.- of Farmington Hills b and Beverly and Bernie Bushman of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Evan is an honor student at Walled Lake Middle School. He enjoys art, inventing and building, rollercoasters and playing the violin. For his mitzvah project, Evan prepared lunches for the homeless, donated food to Yad Ezra and dined with Kadima residents.
