Wednesday, May 9, at Adar Shalom
Synagogue, will be co-chaired by Harriet
Jacobson and Robbie Segel.
Jacobson is a past president of
Women's American ORT, Michigan
Region president. She now serves as a
member of ORT's executive committee
and works as a motivational speaker and
educator who uses her skills as a magi-
cian to illustrate various topics.
Segel is a longtime member of ORT,
serving on the executive committee. She
was arrangements co-chair for Vision
2000. She is an interior designer and
business owner in West Bloomfield.
The ORT dinner will honor commu-
nity leaders Andrea and Lawrence

Jewish Family Service will join Jewish
Hospice and Chaplaincy Network to
enlist a new group of volunteers who
will provide consolation and assistance
to terminally ill clients and their fami-
lies. There is a 12-hour training curricu-
lum.
Training dates are: Thursday, May
10, 5:30-9:30 p.m., dinner included;
Friday, May 11, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., lunch
included; Tuesday, May 15, 5:30-9:30
p.m., dinner included.
Volunteers must attend all three
dates. Professionals and volunteers from
Hospice of Michigan, Jewish Hospice
and Chaplaincy Network and
Beaumont Hospital will facilitate the
training, which will take place at the
Max M. Fisher Federation Building,
6735, Telegraph, Bloomfield Hills.

Life Center
Hosts Support Group

"Now That I Know," a support group
for families with gay and lesbian chil-
dren, is being offered by the Family Life
Center of Temple Israel.
Meetings will be held at the temple
on the first and third Tuesday of every
month at 7:30 p.m. Privacy and confi-
dentiality will be assured. For informa-
