his week's cover art is an excerpt from a larger
work by Farmington Hills artist Eileen
Aboulafia. The work, a mounting of Nazi era
photographs partially covered by gauze and dried
rosebuds, was commissioned by Jewish
Renaissance Media to accompany the report on
how American Jewish feeling about Germany is

shifting.
Aboulafia
Holocaust memory has been a consistent theme
in the work of Ms. Aboulafia, who is a photographer as well as a
painter. "Memory," she says, "makes us who we are — it is our
identity."
