Two businessmen will chair a fund-rais-
er for Jewish Association for Residential
Care, a Southfield-based agency provid-
ing residential care for persons with
developmental disabilities.
Dan Gilbert and Rob Nusbaum
have raised $250,000 for JARC's annu-
al SpringElation on Sunday, May 6, at
GameWorks in Auburn Hills. The
event will benefit JARC's Merle and
Shirley Harris Children and Family
Division, which provides support and
services to families who have children
with special needs.
Gilbert is head of Quicken Loans
and former head of Rock Financial. He
used business techniques and people-
motivating skills to successfully energize
a large group of volunteers to solicit
donations.
"It's enlightening to help people who
need extra support in life," he said. "It's
about making children's lives better and
building a foundation to help more
children and families in the future."
Nusbaum is a real estate developer
and investor. About JARC, he said, "It
is a privilege to contribute to their
cause. It's all about giving back."
For information on the event, call
the hotline, (248) 538-6610, ext. 418.
