Recalling The Past And Celebrating Our Freedoms.

t's a mitzvah to welcome the poor and hungry into our homes on
Pesach, but so is inviting those who are alone. Please remember that
this holiday season; the joy you bring to someone will make your
holiday.
Today's cover doesn't refer to just one story, but rather our Chemed
edition for Pesach, perhaps the most celebrated of all Jewish holidays.
The Pesach festival marks the confluence of our forbears' escape from
Egyptian slavery and the more ancient holiday honoring the spring har-
vest. This year, the festival begins at sundown April 7 and lasts eight
days in the Diaspora (contrasted with seven in Israel).
Coming so near Easter, Pesach also provides an opportunity to invig-
orate the ecumenical bonds we share with our Christian neighbors.
Chag Pesach kasher vsameach — wishing you a happy and kosher
Pesach!
