Jewish Family Service

At no time is a caring community more neces-
sary than when one of its members is going-
through a rough time. That's why Jewish Family
Service is such an important part of our Jewish
Federation's family of agencies.

Those in need may call on Jewish Family
Service for counseling, emergency financial aid,
family violence and child abuse intervention,
resettlement assistance for New Americans,
and transportation, home care and assisted
group-living provisions for older adults.

While this partial listing of services is impressive,
no list can say it all. Leave it to the clients who
have been helped to tell the JFS story best:

■ The youngster without a dad at home whose
Jewish Family Service "Special Friend" mentor
is helping him grow into a responsible adult

The frightened family, overburdened by
illness and unable to pay its bills, whose
burdens are lightened by an understanding
counselor and emergency financial assistance
from JFS

Turning to others in a crisis isn't easy. But how
good to know, when problems feel overwhelm-
ing, that Jewish Family Service will be there —
for every one of us. No Jew has to suffer alone.
