Bar/Bat Mitzvah Andrew Bruce Entin (Chanan Baruch) of Farmington Hills will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Temple Beth El on Saturday, March 31. Participating in the ceremony will be his parents, Amy and Michael, and his brother Jeffrey. Proud grandparents are Iry and Bea Phillips of Farmington Hills and Phil and Bette Entin of Bloomfield Hills. Andrew is an honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills. He is active in the school band, Technology Club and floor hockey. He is also a United States certified soccer referee during the fall and spring soccer seasons with the Farmington Soccer Club. Andrew's mitzvah projects included preparing meals at the Coalition On Temporary Shelter and volunteering at Yad Ezra. Alyssa Kahn Gale will celebrate her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday, March 31. She is the daughter of Linda Kahn Gale and Allan Gale and sister of Eric. Happy grandparents are Lenore and Julius Katz and Florence and Harvey Gale. She is also the grandchild of the late Eugene Kahn and the late George Hirschfield. Alyssa attends Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills and her interests include tap dancing, singing, horse- back riding, camp and animal rights. Among her mitzvah projects, she volunteered 100 hours at the Detroit Shelter of the Michigan Humane Society. Leigh Rachel Genetti will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, March 3 1, at Temple Emanu- El. She is the daugh- ter of Beth and Mark Genetti and the sister of Sam. Leigh is the grand- daughter of Gladys and Charles Brasch and Dorothy and Charles Genetti and the great-grand- daughter of the late Louis Klein. Leigh is a seventh-grade honor student at Norup Middle School in Oak Park. She enjoys playing flute as first chair in the school band and has been an active dance student for 10 years, spending the past summer at Blue Lake Academy, where she stud- ied ballet. Leigh also enjoys spending summers as Camp Maplehurst. She is very serious about sports and is a member of a longstanding, successful soccer team. At Temple Emanu-El, Leigh serves as the president of the JETS youth group board. For her mitzvah project, Leigh volunteered at Yad Ezra and worked with the mentally impaired at a Kadima home. She also volunteered as a leader with the Huntington Woods Recreation Department, where she umpired baseball games and worked with preschoolers on various art and educational projects. Jillian Stephanie Levine, daughter of Annise and Jeffrey Levine, will cele- brate her bat mitz- vah at Temple Israel during Havdalah services on Saturday, March 31. She is the sister of Jarret and Ashley and grandchild of Sandra and Louis Levine and Fred Swartz. She is also the grandchild of the late Edythe Swartz. Jillian is an honor student at Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills, where she is active on the student council. Her interests include dancing and playing the drums. Mitzvah projects involved preparing and delivering baskets for a food drive, babysitting at Temple Israel during services and donating to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. David Hillel Moiseev will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Congregation Beth Shalom on Saturday, March 31. He is the son of proud parents Andrew and Marla Moiseev and the loving older brother of Hannah. David will be joined on the biinah by his proud grandparents Anita and Clifford Rogers and Nathan Moiseev.
