Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Bryan Seth Blase will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday,
March 31, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. He
is the son of Barbara
and Lawrence Blase
of West Bloomfield
and the older broth-
er of Shayna and
Jessyca Blase.
Grandparents Alvin
and Blanche Levin of West Bloomfield
and Betty Blase of Farmington Hills
share in this special day with much
pride. Bryan is also the loving grand-
son of the late Bernard Blase.
Bryan is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. He enjoys playing
the saxophone in the symphony and
jazz bands at school. He is also
active in many sports, delighting in
downhill skiing, swimming, football
and outdoor, rugged camping. His
mitzvah projects included burying
old prayer books, planting spring
flowers at Jewish Association for
Residential Care homes and donat-
ing some of his summer earnings to
the Israel Guide Dog Center for the
Blind.

Amanda Leigh Cantor will become a

bat mitzvah on Friday, March 30, at
Temple Israel. She is
the daughter of
Cathy Cantor and
Dr. Scott Cantor
and sister of Jared,
Mallory, David and
Aidan. Happy are
grandparents Rhoda
Cantor and
Margaret Vingerelli
and great-grandfather Eugene Walters.
Amanda is a student at Abbott
Middle School in West Bloomfield
and enjoys dancing and the computer_
She found' it particularly meaningful
to volunteer with the elderly as part of
her mitzvah projects.
