Temple Israel celebrates its 60th year

and an original play will mark Temple Israel's
0th anniversary celebration this weekend.
"The excitement of being a parr of Temple
Israel has never been greater than it is today Temple
Israel's commitment to be responsive to our 3,400 fami-
lies' ever-changing need is the primary reason for the
unprecedented success of our first 60 years. It is our plan
to stay the course," said Norton E. Stern, president.
On Friday, March 23, Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of
the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, which
represents 900 synagogues, will speak during services.
On Sunday, March 25, Temple Israel's theater group
The Temple Players, in their third theatrical venture
since 1996, will present "60 & Glowing." The song
and dance revue will look at the Temple through the
years. Director Rob Leider and producer Larry Miller
lead a cast of 55 temple members of all ages and back-
grounds. Complimentary tickets are still available fo
the 7:30 p.m. performance. Call Elaine at (248) 661-
5700 by Friday afternoon. Tickets are gone for the
afternoon preformance.
