ichigan Heritage Bank (MHB) is a state-chartered commer-
cial bank established in March 1997. The bank was capital-
ized through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of stock in
Michigan Heritage Bancorp, Inc., its parent company. The
bank stock is publicly traded over the counter and its symbol is MHBC.
MHB provides a focused core of banking services, primarily for small to
medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals. The bank's leading services
are primarily in commercial real estate, indirect commercial leasing and
mortgage lending.
MHB pays outstanding interest rates on commercial and
personal money markets, certificates of deposits and personal
interest-bearing checking accounts. The "classic checking
account" yields a better interest rate than most banks limited
access money market accounts. The bank's financial products
are exceptional and designed with a variety of banking services
to help businesses and individuals achieve their financial goals.
The convenience of "Rapid Courier Service" is offered to
commercial customers who seek additional deposit services.
For a minimum balance determined by the number of courier
pickups required, this service offers prearranged pick-up times
for all business banking transactions.
Commercial checking accounts also offer "sweep" capabili-
ties with low or no fees. The account "sweeps" or transfers
money from checking to a higher interest-bearing money mar-
ket account. Every week it "sweeps" money to the checking
account to pay checks, thereby maximizing the rate of interest
return on the account.
MHB has joined forces with Enterprise Financial to create a
new full-service mortgage division. According to MHB
President and COO Anthony Albanese, "We are proud and
excited about this new venture. The combining of Michigan
Heritage Bank and Enterprise Financial Services will allow
MHB, Mortgage to offer complete mortgage products that
will benefit Michigan Heritage Bank customers as well as all
individuals in the metro Detroit Area."
MHB, Mortgage offers customers a complete array of mort-
gage products, including Fanny Mae (FNMA) and Freddie MAC
(FHLMC) for "A Type" borrowers, as well as FHA and various loan types
for those who are credit challenged. Other services include refinancing,
home purchasing assistance, new construction financing, equity lines of
credit and second mortgages.
The primary goal of MHB is to provide personal service with an experi-
enced staff using the latest state of the art technology. Account access
through telephone banking has been added recently and, later in the year,
on-line banking will be offered.
"We have established a strong foundation for our company. We believe
with the initiatives already in place in combination with our management
team and facility locations that we are prepared to meet the challenges and
opportunities that exist in our marketplace today and well into the future.
We remain extremely optimistic about our prospects for the future and will
continue to focus on customer service, growth, earning, and asset quality as
we continue building franchise and share holder value. '(2000 Annual
Report)
