REPAIR SHOP

SAME HOURS AS PREVIEW PARTY & GENERAL SHOW

In one room, a handful of people,
ranging from 12 to 86 years old, were
busy checking and wrapping parcels.
Jonathan Adler, 12, of Bloomfield Hills,
said, "It feels great doing community
service. This is part of my bar mitzvah
project."
Across from him, Sara Berman of
Farmington Hills, 86, and her sister-in-
law Clara Dubin of Bloomfield Hills,
also were busy and "satisfied" to be

doing this volunteer work.
As a constant trickle of families con-
tinued to arrive even after noon, they
passed a sign on a doorway with a
quote from Rabbi Kerry M. Olitsky:
"By way of Shalach Manot ---
through the nearly mystical power of
Purim — you can transform strangers
into friends."
The words certainly rang true at the
Great Parcel Purim event.
