CHARLES ALFRED KIRSH, 65, of Orion, died Feb. 18. He is survived by his brother, Arthur Kirsh of Southfield; cousins, Judi and Nicholas Grui; aunt, Silvia Brenner; many nieces, nephews, great-cousins and his family at his Westlyn home. LAWRENCE "LARRY" KLEIMAN, 55, of Southfield, died Feb. 20. He was an auto industry finance manager and a passionate Yankee, Knicks and Giants fan. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Kleinman; daughters and son-in-law, Stacey Kleiman and fiance Eric Stanford, Ilissa and Phil Auger of Lake Orion, Debra Kleiman of Rochester Hills; son, Peter Kamego of Southfield; grandchildren, Jordan, Madison and Maxwell Auger, Kayla Kamego; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Mac Duberstein of Farmington Hills; brother, Neil Kleiman and fiancee Judy Behrmann. ADOLPH KOMER, 79, of Bloomfield Hills, died Feb. 25. A builder and developer, he was the owner of Komer Companies. Twenty-four years ago, he became a bar mitzvah with his son at Yeshiva Beth Yehudah. Mr. Komer helped initiate the city of Detroit tax abatements to bring development to downtown Detroit, developed and built Franklin Park ToWers in Southfield — 1172 units — which was the largest single phase HUD complex in the U.S. He was a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II, a national gunnery champion, an advanced flight instructor, a POW with two Purple Hearts and a B-24 squadron commander. He built many thousands of homes in metro Detroit and, in 1953, he built the first shopping center — Eastgate Shopping Center — with the largest store on one floor in the U.S., Federals. He was a leader in developing senior citizen high-rises, River Tower Apartments on the riverfront and was a partner with Max Fisher, Al Taubman and Henry Ford in the development of riverfront apartments next to Cobo Hall. Mr. Komer is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Barbara Komer of West Bloomfield; daughter, Janice Komer of Southfield; granddaughter, Arielle Komer.
