Aids Eldercare Services

The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Commission
on Jewish Eldercare Services
(COJES) received a gift from
Franklin's Maxwell and Marjorie
Jospey for services to older adults.
Among the
immediate bene-
fits will be
expanded trans-
portation ser-
vices. A portion
of the gift will be
used to buy a
special van and
fund the salary of
a driver so isolat-
ed older adults
living at home
Maxwell Jospey
can get to med-
ical appointments
and shopping. In addition, the gift
will provide other home support ser-
vices for older adults.
COJES is a partnership of the
Jewish Federation, the United Jewish
Foundation and the following
Federation agencies providing ser-
vices to older adults: Jewish
Apartments and Services, Jewish
Community Center, Jewish Family
Service, Jewish Home and Aging
Services and Jewish Vocational
Service.
"I hope this gift will be an inspira-
tion for others to help our growing
population of older adults," Maxwell
Jospey said.
The Jospeys presented the gift to
Federation President Penny
Blumenstein and CEO Robert
Aronson.
Maxwell received Federation's first
Lifetime Achievement Award in
honor of a lifetime of service to the
Jewish community of Detroit and
the Jewish people. He is past presi-
dent of the United Jewish
Foundation and Sinai Hospital of
Detroit, past chairman of
Federation's Annual Campaign and
past vice president of the Jewish
Federation and the Jewish Home for
Aged. He is a former board member
of the Council of Jewish Federations,
Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion and Henry Ford
Hospital of West Bloomfield.
The Jospeys support many cultural
and religious institutions, including
the Detroit Institute of Arts, the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Temple
Emanu-El and Temple Beth El.
