teaches Jewish Moshe Waldoks
cultural, spiri-
tual and ritual
renewal throughout North America.
He has recently been ordained as a
post-denominational rabbi by his men-
tors, Rabbis Zalman Schachter-
Shalomi, Arthur Green and Everett
Gendler. He serves as rabbi of Temple
Beth Zion in Brookline, Mass. He is a
recipient of a B'nai B'rith International
Humanitarian Award.

of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills have been named local winners
in the 32nd annual America & Me
essay contest spon-
sored by Farm
Bureau Insurance.
Rivka Weiss of
Southfield placed
first, Rena
Wexelberg-Clouser
of Oak Park placed
second and Yael
Smiley of
Rivka Weiss
Farmington Hills
placed third. All
three received award certificates for
their achievement. As the school's first
place winner, Weiss will have her
named engraved on a plaque for per-
manent display in the school.
Weiss' first-place essay advances to
the state-level competition, from
which the top 10 essays in Michigan
will be selected. The 10 state winners
will be announced in March. The
topic of this year's contest was "My
American Hero."
