Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Ariel Yosef Dubov will become a bar
mitzvah on Saturday, Feb. 17, at
Temple Beth El. He and his sister
Aleksandra are the children of Cantor
Stephen and Christine Dubov and the
grandchildren of
David and Joan
Dubov and the late
Arthur and Wanda
Salac.
Ariel is a student
at Cranbrook
Vaughn Middle
School in Bloomfield
Hills. He is a percus-
sionist in the Kidz Klez Band and col-
lects masks from his travels around the
world. An article about his mask col-
lection was published in the
November 2000 issue of Boys Life
Magazine. Ariel enjoys football, skiing
and is on the boys middle school bas-
ketball team. He was also voted into
the Cranbrook Leadership Council.
For his mitzvah project, Ariel is a
teacher's aide at the Temple. Beth El
religious school. Ariel, born in
Jerusalem during his father's cantorial
studies, is anxiously awaiting to return
to his roots with Teen Mission 2002.

Mallory Walter was called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Friday, Feb.
9, at Temple
Emanu-El. She is the
daughter of Paul and
Debra Walter and
sister of Max, Ari
and Zachary. Proud
grandparents are
Seymour and Estelle
Kleiman and Edith
Walter. She is also
the granddaughter of
the late Dr. Paul Walter.
Mallory is an honor student at
Norup Middle School in Oak Park.
She enjoys singing, dancing, sports
and summers at Camp Tamarack.
For her mitzvah project, she pack-
aged groceries at Yad Ezra. She also
fed the homeless on Thanksgiving and
worked at a Jewish Association for
Residential Care home.
