The Detroit Medical Center's
Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is offer-
ing a series of FREE community education
classes for persons caring for the elderly in
their homes.

Classes are taught by health and rehabili-
tation professionals using innovative technol-
ogy. Topics include: safety, nutrition, stress,
Alzheimer's disease, legal issues, community
resources, medications and a question and
answer session with a doctor.

This FREE 6-week course is offered Monday
evenings from 6:30-8:15 p.m., beginning
March Sth & April 23rd at the JCCs in Oak
Park and West Bloomfield.

LZA Hosts
Tribute Event

The Labor Zionist Alliance will
hold its first tribute brunch on
Sunday, March 11, at the Westin
Hotel, Southfield. Funds raised at
the event will go to the Labor
Zionist Education Fund for promot-
ing Israel oriented programs and
activities throughout the communi-
tY
Honorees are Helen and Norman
Naimark in recognition of their 50
years of service to the country, corn-
munity and Israel.
Helen Naimark served as vice
president of the Women's Division
and founding member of Business
and Professional Women for the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit. She was the vice president
for the Detroit Zionist Federation;
chair for Michigan Region Hadassah
Youth Commission; and board
member of the Jewish Community
Center. She also served as a board
member of the American Zionist
Federation, Michigan Region. She is
the president of the Labor Zionist
Institute and board member of the
Labor Zionist Alliance of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Norman Naimark was president
of the Junior Division and served on
the board of governors for the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit; co-chair of black-Jewish
relations with A. Philip Randolph
Institute; president of the Detroit
Zionist Federation; and on the
board of the Detroit Jewish
Community Center. He also served
on the board of the Michigan
Housing Trust Fund; president of
the Corktown Consumer Housing
Co-op; treasurer and finance corn-
mittee chair of the Casa Maria
Family Services for the city of
Detroit. He is the national vice
president, Midwest Region of the_
Labor Zionist Alliance and has been
a delegate to the last four World
Zionist Congresses in Jerusalem.
Special guest speaker will be
Israeli Knesset member Colette
Avital. She is the chair of the
Parliamentary Inquiry Committee
for the Location and Restitution -of
Property of Holocaust Victims and
is a member of the Education and
Culture Committee.
