Berkowitz Donation

DESERVES THE VERY

Variety, the Children's Charity recent-
ly received a $25,000 scholarship
donation from the Alfred Berkowitz
Foundation for their summer camp
for special children, SCAMP. The
Berkowitz Foundation was established
in memory of Alftgd Berkowitz of
Birmingham, who died in a fatal car
accident in 1999 at age 80. He was
known for his philanthropic efforts,
including donation a large collection
of art to the University of Michigan.
He also helped establish the religious
school at Temple Shir Shalom that is
named after him.
