W hen Daryle Roth decided to double the size of her gift store last October, she went all out to create an eye-catching space that exudes some fairytale-like fun. The shop, Wrap It Up, in Orchard Mall, reflects Roth's keen eye for color and design, as well as the artistic talents of the Marco Design Group in Northville and N•Iind's Eye Studio in Sterling Heights. Roth wanted a painterly feel, with lots of pinks and aquas, but with classic furniture pieces used for display. She got both — an exterior strewn with dancing pink roses and an interior distinguished by squared off mahogany columns and custom-built book- cases and shelving. As a bonus, Wrap It Up anchors its corner space with a huge painted column that can be seen as you enter the mall. "I think it brings new life to the area," says Roth. The shop brims with Roth's hand-picked greeting cards, works by local artists, paint- ed furniture, some estate pieces, jewelry Roth wanted a painterly feel, with lots ofpinks.and pie(-- used for display. aquas, but with classic fur and gifts for the entire family. A private con- sultation area caters to brides and hostesses who are shopping for invitations. "Shoppers can really have fun here," says Roth of the exuberant shop. It's a happy place, where yellow walls are punc- tuated by purple and green stripes, and vines twine along the copper-toned curved wall of the sales desk. Even the flying bumblebee light fix- tures invite a playful shopping experi- ence. Above right: Roses dance along the walls of Wrap It Up in West Bloomfield.
