Bar/Bat Mitzvah Rachel Brooke Angelo will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Temple Israel. She is the daughter of Rhonda Kaplansky and John Angelo and sister of Garret. Excited grandmoth- ers are Marilyn Kaplansky and Delaine Angelo. She is also the grandchild of the late Eli Kaplansky and the late John Angelo. A student at Bloomfield Hills Middle School, Rachel enjoys soccer, basketball, volleyball and art. Her most meaningful mitzvah projects were vol- unteering at Gleaners Food Bank and contributing to cancer research. Allison Bornstein was called to the Torah as'a bat mitzvah on Friday, Jan. 12, at Temple Emanu-El. Allison is the daughter of Ina and Keith Bornstein and the sister of Mark Bornstein. Proud grandparents are Audrey and Melvin Bornstein and Lorraine and Alfred Dangovian. She is also the granddaugh- ter of the late Benita Bornstein. Allison is in the seventh grade at Norup Middle School in Oak Park. She enjoys music, dance and spend- ing time with family and friends. Much of her bat mitzvah will be oriented around her mitzvah projects, including collecting food for Forgotten Harvest, giving toys to abused children affiliated with Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Oakland County and supporting the Detroit Zoological Society: Jenna Marie Krinsky will celebrate her bat mitzvah on Friday, Feb. 2, at Temple Israel. She is the daughter of Debbie and Joseph Krinsky and sister of Jeffrey and Jay. Proud grandparents are Barbara Deschamps and Maxine Krinsky and special grandpa Leonard Miller. She is also the grandchild of tl- late Charles Deschamps. A West Bloomfield Orchard Lake Middle School student, Jenna enjoys tennis, swimming and danc- ing. Her mitzvah projects include working with autistic children on an ongoing basis, assisting at the Oakland County Food Bank and babysitting at Temple Israel during services.
