The Dresden Staatskapelle has long been considered one of
the finest orchestras in the world. Beethoven himself noted,
"it is generally-said that the orchestra in Dresden is the
best in Europe." In this concert, the Dresden Staatskapelle,
which has been closely associated with the music of Richard
Strauss, having premiered many of his works, will feature
three of the composer's lush orchestral works.
