p.m. during the week. However,
we've had the dinner there as well
and the food is very good.
"The decor is plain/simple.
However, the service is typically very
good and the wait staff faces rarely
change. There's even an article on
the wall that the mayor of Las Vegas,
Jewish citizen Oscar Goodman,
dines there on the weekends with his
wife. Now, there's a guy who can
expect good food and service!
"Other than Bagel Cafe, we enjoy
eating a lot of sushi. The only thing
here that makes it unique is a few
all-you-can-eat sushi bars. The quali-
ty is good and you can't beat the
prices. And, one of the places we go
(Makino) regularly has about 75%
Asian clientele. That's a good feeling
when you're eating sushi. Our other
favorite restaurant is the Grand Lux
Cafe at the Venetian Hotel and
Casino. It's owned by the
Cheesecake Factory. The food is out-
standing, but the service tends to be
marginal.
"My relatives in Detroit with the
Dubin name are my dad, Howard
Dubin, 0.D., (optometrist in down-
town Farmington,) mom Susan
Dubin, brother Art Dubin (who
works at Big Daddy's), grandma
Clara Dubin and Uncle Larry Dubin
(law professor at University of
Detroit Mercy). My late grandfather,
Al Dubin, was a pharmacist over 50
years and worked many years at
Sam's in downtown Detroit.
"My wife Debbie's relatives in
Detroit are her parents, Marvin and
Eleanor Weinstein. Marvin is a part-
ner at Morof, Sheplow, Weinstein,
CPAs. And Debbie's aunt and uncle
are Syd and Judy Weinstein."
