MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

This has been such a special year for Kadima - Lisa gave up smoking; Steve
was named a JVS employee of the year; David was awarded
certificate and pin for five years of work at TJ.Maxx; Larry was reunited with
a sister he had not seen in 10 years; Andrea was reunited with 2 daughters
she had placed in adoption 30 years ago; our clients began producing
their own newsletter; four women took occupancy of the new Arden Park
home; and Kadima purchased a new home for itself, a building in
Southfield. These achievements of Kadima and its clients were made
possible because of the dedication, devotion and philanthropy of people in
our Detroit metropolitan community.

To date, we have raised $2M, an
incredible start, but a long way from
our goal of $3.5M. In addition to
acquiring, renovating and furnishing
Kadima's new home, our plans for
this fund include the drop-in center
Richard Zussman,
Janette Shallal
and a special home for Kadima Plus

clients. This home would provide for
our seniors, enabling them to live independently even as they continue to age
so they are not prematurely placed in nursing homes.

Due to the generosity of Herbert Charfoos and many others who have donat-
ed to our Capital Campaign, Kadima will move into its new
headquarters in late spring. This will permit us to provide the increased
services demanded by our present consumers, and allow us to offer
counselling, group services and social activities to many more individuals with
psychiatric disabilities who have been our waiting list. Kadima intends to devel-
op many new programs and services, including a drop-in center for clients
where they can enjoy their own activities and interests.

Now, it is time for Kadima to once again turn to our caring Jewish
community for help in making our dream, the hopes of our clients, become a
reality. Whether you have family members or friends who use or will bene-
fit from Kadima services, or you are fortunate and do not have or know a
loved one who struggles with mental illness, your participation in our cam-
paign is vital to its success. Together we can build, brick by brick, a facility
and foundation that will assure Kadima's place in our community far into the
future.

Kadima has completed the first two phases of our Capital Campaign. First,
we targeted a select group of donors and were overwhelmed by their support.
Then members of our Board answered our call with contributions of their own.

I wish you and your family a happy Hanukkah.
