During World War II, he was stationed in the European Theatre and received a Bronze Star. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1 in Warren and a mem- ber of the Wolverine Bike Club. Dr. Shear is survived by his son, Laurence Shear; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Laurie Shear; brother, Irwin Shear; sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Donald Freeman. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Shear; the loving brother of the late Ronald Shear; dear brother-in-law of the late Edith Shear. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery. He was a stockbroker. He escaped Austria and came to the United States and joined the Army and went back to Europe as an Army sharpshooter during World War II.
