He was the owner of Screen Printing, a World War II army veteran, a life member of Shaarey Zedek and avid stamp and coin collector; he loved to play golf. Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel. PHILIP SCHONBERGER, 78, of North Bay Village, Fla., died Dec. 12. During World War II, he served as a staff sergeant in the Marine Corps and was awarded the Purple Heart. In Florida, Mr. Schonberger was a North Bay Village commissioner for two years and served several terms as president of the North Bay Village Optimist Club, heading fund-raising activities for kids born to drug-addict- ed parents and collecting scholarship money for the sick and underprivi- leged. In the North Bay Village Lions Club, he furthered the project helping kids with eye problems attend summer camp. One of his recent accomplish- ments was getting approval for a new boardwalk and park area at the city's waterfront; the park will be dedicated in his name. He was also a member of Temple Beth El of North Bay Village. Mr. Schonberger is survived by his wife, Sylvia Schonberger; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Elaine Schonberger of West Bloomfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Manny Cetner of West Bloomfield, Lyn and Hollis Hendrickson of Sugarland, Texas, Wendy and Mark Bellon of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchil- dren, Lenny Cetner, Aaron Cetner, Michael Schonberger, Keith Schonberger, Melissa Hendrickson, Abigail Bellon, Rachel Bellon.
