New Director

New York/JTA — A former U.S.
Nazi investigator was named director
of the New York-based Museum of
Jewish Heritage — A Living
Memorial to the Holocaust.
David Marwell, who hopes to
boost the museum's Web site, previ-
ously worked for the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum in Washington
and also served as a Nazi-hunter at
the U.S. Justice Department's Office
of Special Investigations.
Marwell, 48, holds a doctorate in
modern European history.

Federation of Greater Los Angeles
rededicated its community building,
followinc, a $24 million renovation
to repair severe damage sustained
during a 1994 earthquake.
The building unveiled Dec. 10
sports an aqua-colored glass exterior,
a grove of olive trees at the entrance
and a facade of Jerusalem stone. On
entering, visitors are greeted by a
children's library and a state-of-the-
art children's museum.
