No, I don't use all my restaurant
reviews ... Many are still in my com-
puter along with other notes ... Bad
restaurants with poor food and service,
or overall a poor experience, are not
reviewed in print ... I'm not interested
in writing about bad restaurants ...
And I'm sure people don't care to read
about them.
When reviewing a restaurant, I'm
interested in the entire experience ...
Not just the food, although that is a
very important part of the visitation
... To me, a review is whatever I
think is important to an entire din-
ing adventure.
OLDIE BUT GOODIE Dept. ...
from Karin Indig ... "A rabbi is walk-
ing slowly out of shul when a gust of
wind blows his hat down the street.
He's an old man and can't walk fast
enough to catch his hat.
"Across the street a Christian young
man sees what has happened and rush-
es over and grabs the hat and returns
it to the rabbi. 'I don't think I would
have been able to catch my hat,' the
rabbi says. 'Thank you very much.'
"The rabbi places his hand on the
other man's shoulder and says, 'May
God bless you.'
"The young man thinks to himself,
`I've been blessed by the rabbi. This
must be my lucky day!'
"So he goes to the racetrack and in
the first race there is a horse named
Stetson at 20 to 1. He bets $50 and,
sure enough, the horse comes in first.
In the second race he bets it all on a
horse named Fedora at 30 to 1 and
this horse comes in first.
"Finally at the end of the day, the
man returns to his wife who asks him
where he has been. He explains how
he caught the rabbi's hat and was
blessed by him, and that he went to
the track and started winning on the
horses that had a hat in their names.
`So where's the money?' she asked.
"`I lost it all in the ninth race. I bet
on a horse named Chateau and it lost.'
`You fool, Chateau is house;
Chapeau is hat.'
"'It doesn't matter,' he said. 'The
winner was some Japanese horse
named Yarmulke.'"
KORN KORNER ... from Irving
Richman ... "Waiter, this coffee tastes
like mud!" ... "I'm not surprised, sir, it
was ground only a few minutes ago."
Diner to waiter ... "How dare you
spill soup on my trousers."
"I'm sorry, sir, but now you have
soup in your fly!" ❑
