Bar/Bat Mitzvah

For her mitzvah project, Aviva
volunteered at the Jewish Association
for Residential Care and participated
in the Meals on Wheels program,
delivering hot meals to many
Oakland County seniors.

Brittany Ann Okun Braudo will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Dec. 16.
She is the daughter
of Diane Okun-
Braudo and Richard
Braudo and grand-
child of Seymour
Okun. She is also
the granddaughter
of the late Faye
Okun and the late
MaryJane and Marshall Braudo.
An honor student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
Brittany likes reading, writing, bas-
ketball and softball and she plays the
bassoon. She found it particularly
meaningful to volunteer for the
Coalition On Temporary Shelter
project and making dolls for hospi-
talized children through Hadassah.

Rachel Fay Cicurel will celebrate her
bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, Dec. 15. She
is the daughter of
Meg and Steve
Cicurel and sister of
Jessica. Proud
grandparents are
Ceil and Sol Cicurel
and Sydney and
Norman Stern.
Rachel is an
honor student at Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield. She
enjoys dance, water- and snow-skiing
and attending overnight camp.
Volunteering when Temple Israel
housed the homeless was Rachel's
most meaningful mitzvah project.

Shir Shalom. She is
the daughter of
Mark and Andrea
Dubrinsky and sis-
ter of Shawn

and Jean Cutler and Ken Dubrinsky.

Shayna is an honor student at
Riley Middle School in Livonia. She
is active in her ballet and jazz classes
and with figure skating.

Hailee is an honor student at

West Bloomfield. Her interests
include dance, skiing, swimming and
attending Camp Tamarack. Her most
meaningful mitzvah project was vol-
unteering at Yad Ezra.

bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 16,
at Temple Israel. He
is the son of
Suzanne Okun and
Edward Short and
grandchild of
Seymour Okun and
Dolly Short. He is
also the grandchild
of the late Faye
Okun and the late Ray Short.
A Novi Middle School student,
Josh enjoys golf and fitness. His
ongoing mitzvah project involves
tutoring young children, which he
finds very meaningful.
